Main Street Adds Flowers to Beautify Downtown
Main Street Hagerstown’s Clean Safe and Green work group continue to beautify the downtown. On September 29, Main Street volunteers and city staff planted over 80 winter-hardy plants in the planter pots along East Franklin Street. The plants included decorative cabbage and kale, a variety of colorful mums, and several pansies. The group also picked up litter along the street after they finished planting.
While this beautification project only focused on East Franklin Street, Main Street Hagerstown also added flowers to Public Square in June for some additional pop of color. In addition, the group has organized other litter pickups. The group continues to encourage residents, visitors, and businesses to do their part and clean up and green up downtown. The Clean Safe and Green work group will continue to organize and plan for the seasonal plantings along East Franklin Street.
