Eclipse International Band is made up of cultures and talents ranging from the Caribbean shores of Trinidad & Tobago and the U.S. They have infused their musical vibes to create the original sound that we call Eclipse International.
The members of Eclipse International Band enjoy jamming to Soca, Reggae, Afro Beats, R&B, and Go-Go. Our musical style is influenced by the upbeat temp of Faca and African Lag, the soothing sounds of soul and jazz, and the rhythmic vibe of GoGo, R&B, & Pop. With each performance their love for music exudes from their veins and pores leaving their audience begging for more. Eclipse International has gained popularity by their ability to perfect the art of changing any hit tune into a Soca or Reggae cover song. Not only have they enjoyed performing at many local shows, festivals, and bars/lounges, they have been blessed to be the opening act for internationally known artistes such as Beres Hammond, Romain Virgo, Sugar Aloes, Problem Child, Bunji Garlin and Culture.
Eclipse International originated from an idea of previous drummer, now lead vocalist Sir Mikey. He had a desire to form a band with friends and fellow musicians who shared a greater love and dedication to island music. In his basement, Sir Mikey asked four of his friends to come together and Eclipse International Band was formed. Originally from Trinidad & Tobago, Sir Mikey began playing the drums and steel pans as a teenager and part of the local scene for years, playing with numerous local bands. Petal, lead vocalist, is also from Trinidad & Tobago. She’s also a recording artist that has been singing for most of her life and has spent many years mastering the art of entertaining and seducing her audience with her sultry, soothing voice. She is backed by her close friends, Doug on the bass guitar and Jeremy on the drum. Doug, a bass guitarist from Maryland, keeps the vibe flowing with unique, funky style. Also hailing from Maryland with Trinidadian roots is drummer, Jeremy, with an innate ability to woo his audience with his dramatic flair and rhythm.
“A musical sound like no other and the vibes to keep people dancing.”

Wednesday, August 20 – Point of Rock
Remember all those songs you heard on the radio back in the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s, and even the 2,000’s? All those great rock songs by all those great bands? Yeah, we do too. That is why Point of Rock formed, to bring back all those memories and all those great tunes.
Formally called That 70’s Band, Point of Rock is a Frederick, MD based group dedicated to performing songs from that era with passion and energy. harmonies, crunching guitars, and all that attitude.
Point of Rock was formed by guitarist Mike Jensen and drummer John Saum. Each is a veteran of the Frederick music scene and each brings many years of experience to the group. Jensen is from Wheaton, MD and has been playing guitar for over 35 years. Most recently he was part of The 351 South Band. Saum is from Hagerstown, MD. He started playing the drums in elementary school and continued through high school. After a break, he started playing again in 2010 with Jensen in the band Critical Feedback. Later the two formed That 70’s Band.
In 2023 Saum stepped down and veteran drummer Doug Tepper stepped up to take over. He has played in several area bands and has helped the band keep going without losing momentum.
Phil Lazo is a guitarist and vocalist from Rockville, MD. He joined That 70’s Band in 2017. He spent nine years with the Annapolis based Christian rock group Northbound. They released three albums between 2001-2010. His musical influences are Boston, Journey, The Eagles, and Phil Keaggy.
Danny Rucker has been laying down the bass back bone for several decades for bands in the area. Back in the earlier days he recorded two 45 originals and was a studio musician on several records with gospel and Jazz bands. Danny finally settled into the Band “Flyer” which played in the area for over 15 years. After a break, Danny decided to start looking to get back into the music scene last year. He came across “Point of Rock” and it was an instant fit. The song selections were perfect and the comradery was even better. Danny’s influences are very wide and come from all types of music, but Chris Squire was one of the most important influences on his music style.
Peter Hugick lead singer of Point of Rock. Originally from New Jersey, Peter is a veteran of the DMV music scene. He founded and sang lead for the successful 80s hair metal cover band, Hair Raid, from 2008 to 2014. He’s gigged in DC, Baltimore, and New York City. Vocalists that influenced him have included Robert Plant, Scott Weiland, Rob Thomas, David Coverdale, Kevin Cronin, and Lou Gramm.
Keyboardist Ken Durr has played in hard rock, southern rock, and Top 40 bands, touring the Eastern US during the early 1980s. In the late 80s he built a following for his dynamic solo acoustic act in the Columbus, Ohio area. A multi-instrumentalist, Ken is also a prolific songwriter. Top influences, include Paul McCartney, Todd Rundgren, Frank Zappa, and the Grateful Dead
If you want a trip down memory lane and a ticket to a great evening of rock n roll, make a point to attend a concert by Point of Rock!
